Qatar- New centre at Hamad Airport for immigration services


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Airport Immigration Department of the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriates Affairs has opened a new office for the issuance of travel permits and other services at Hamad International Airport ( HIA).
Major Nasser Jaber al-Maliki, head of the Travel Permits Section of Airport Passports Department said that the office is located at the departure terminal near to the luggage weighing counter at HIA. Three counters have been arranged for the purpose in addition to a special counter for the officer in-charge.
He pointed out that the office will work 24/7 to provide services like issuance of exit permits, renewal and cancellation of residence permit under personal sponsorship and payment of fines related to passports and visas.
Ft. Lt. Sultan Abdullah al-Noaimi, officer at the Entry Permit Section said that most of the services provided by the Visas and Travel Permits Department can be completed through Metrash2 application and Ministry of Interior ( MoI) web portal. But many people who are not aware of exit permit issuance and expiry of residence permits can approach the centre to complete their procedures within few minutes to travel in the scheduled time itself.
He urged the citizens and residents to utilise Metrash2, MoI web portal or service kiosks available in shopping centres and ministries as well as service centres in all parts of the state to complete their transaction with the MoI.
