Qatar- QIB donation for traffic awareness


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has donated QR500,000 to support traffic awareness programmes by the Ministry of Interior's (MoI) Traffic Department.
QIB vice chairman Abdullatif bin Abdulla al-Mahmoud handed over the cheque to Brigadier Mohammed Saad al-Kharji, director general of the Traffic Department, at the QIB head office.
QIB Group CEO Bassel Gamal said: "In QIB we value the unique efforts undertaken by the Traffic Department to acquaint both citizens and residents with traffic laws and rules and all relevant procedures that contribute to everybody's safety and security."
He added: "We are fully aware of our responsibility towards the community, and our support for the Traffic Department's activities is part of QIB's social responsibility programme under the guidance and support of the board of directors.
"The support and sponsorship of such activities is one of our core values being a leading national financial institution. It is essential for all to realise the importance of complying with traffic laws to help reduce or even prevent road accidents. This will contribute to our collective safety and the preservation of our human and economic capital in Qatar."
