S. Korea's Kia plans to sell 60,000 new Sportage cars in 2016

(MENAFN) A bold target has been set by South Korean Kia Motors Corp. to sell more than 60,000 units of its overhauled Sportage SUV in the country in 2016, as stated by company officials.

South Korea's second-largest carmaker aims to sell 30,000 units of the new Sportage during the rest of this year with the plan to increase annual domestic sales to over 60,000 units from next year.

Safety on the new Sportage has been promoted, with an advanced air bag system, which can adjust the air pressure depending on the speed during impact, and a high-beam assist program that makes nighttime driving more convenient.

"This is the model of the highest expectations for this year that we have put all our capacity into, and we approached its development with differentiated standards," said the CEO of Kia Motors.
