(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Johnny Depp has joked that he would "assault" an Australian politician if his wife, actress Amber Heard, is sent to prison.
Heard is facing charges for illegally smuggling their pet dogs to Australia earlier this year.
The actor spoke about the case on TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live! commenting that he would hit Australia's agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce so that he too can join his wife in the jail, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
He said: "I would just fly to Australia and assault that man so that I could go to prison."
The Pirates of the Caribbean star added that the dog drama had been "by far the most interesting" legal case he's ever been involved in.
"We were under the impression that we had all the paperwork done for the dogs, we were there with the dogs in front of everybody," Depp said.
Heard will be appearing in a Queensland court in November.
