Boeing to launch first finishing center outside the US

(MENAFN) Boeing, the top US jet maker is considering plans to set up a 737 jet completion and delivery center in China, which can only point at heating competition in the Chinese aircraft industrial market.

At the meantime, Boeing will continue to assemble all Boeing 737s destined for Chinese carriers at its current factory in US Renton, until the center is ready to receive components for installation of interiors, flight tests and final delivery.

If everything goes as planned and the reports are confirmed, it would be the first time that Boeing is setting up a finishing and delivery center outside of the United States, which is considered huge milestone.

"Boeing is always looking for opportunities to support its growth plans and for productivity improvements. One way we will do this is by working with partners around the world," said an official from Boeing.
