Jordan- Foreign minister, Albanian counterpart discuss ties, region


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, and his Albanian counterpart, Ditmir Bushati, on Monday discussed bilateral ties while stressing the importance of building on the outcome of the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Albania last May.

Both sides voiced willingness to step up joint cooperation in the economic, tourism and cultural fields, as Jordan has religious and tourist sites, as well as an attractive investment climate.

On efforts to counter terrorism and extremism, Judeh said that Jordan stands at the forefront of global efforts to "eradicate terrorism", citing King Abdullah's description of the war on terror as "our war".

On the situation in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya, the foreign minister emphasized the importance of resorting to purposeful dialogue and political solution in those countries.

Judeh and Bushati spoke on ways to ramp up cooperation between Jordan and Albania in various fields.

Judeh reviewed the Kingdom's continuing cooperation with all Arab and Islamic parties to serve Islam and its just causes.

The Albanian official said that his country views Jordan as an oasis for peace and stability and serves as a hub for regional countries in the economic and investment sphere.

He also appreciated Jordan's role at the political level towards various regional and international issues, as well as its endeavors to bring about peace and stability in the region, defend Islam and highlight its true image.
