Jordan- King meets Albanian foreign minister


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) His Majesty King Abdullah II met at Al Husseiniya Palace on Monday, with Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati, who conveyed to the King the greetings of Albanian President Bujar Nishani.

His Majesty voiced Jordan's keenness to forge closer ties with Albania and capitalize on the outcome of his visit to Albanian earlier this year and his talks with the Albanian President and senior officials that aimed at boosting bilateral ties in the interest of both peoples.

The King and the Albanian minister stressed the need to expand bilateral ties and benefit from opportunities available in both countries to enhance trade and economic ties between the two countries.

On regional developments, the two sides discussed ways of dealing with current crises in a number of countries, mainly in Syria, Iraq and Libya, and stressed the need to reach comprehensive and political solutions that guarantee security and stability for the region's peoples.

Talks during the meeting also focused on efforts to counter terrorism and extremism and deal with this phenomenon in a strategic and holistic approach.

The Albanian minister voiced his country's keenness to promote relations with Jordan's and maintain coordination and consultations on various issues of concern to both countries.

He also expressed his country's appreciation of His Majesty's role in strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional and international issues in a wise manner.

The meeting was attended by the Royal Court chief, the foreign minister, the director of the King's office and the delegation accompanying the Albanian minister.
