Qatar- 8th Meeting of GCC Senior Prosecutors Kicks Off


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The 8th meeting of GCC Assistants of Public Prosecutors, Attorney-Generals and Heads of Public Investigation Bodies and the Public Prosecution began here today.

The meeting ,which was held at Marsa Malaz Kempinski in the Pearl- Qatar, discussed a set of topics including the united regulation to inspect the work of GCC's prosecutors and investigative bodies. It also discussed rules for child protection during investigation stage, mechanisms for implementing rules of mutual cooperation as well as implementation of arrest and appearance warrants at the level of the GCC Member States among other topics.

Names of winners of Award for Excellence for members of the GCC public prosecutions and investigation bodies will be adopted during the meeting and checking recommendations of the technical committees meetings held during the current year.

At the outset of the meeting, Ibrahim Abdulla Saeed Abdulla Al-Qubaisi, HE Qatar's Prime Solicitor General, who is also Director of who is the chair of the meeting, pointed to the considerable efforts that have been made by the Public Prosecutions departments in the GCC. Al-Qubaisi also made a reference to the speech of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani before the GCC summit in Doha, when HH the Emir said that it is only practice that will turn the GCC into an entity and build towards the goal of having the GCC as an active Arab Organization on the regional and international arena.
