Qatar- 8th Meeting of GCC Senior Prosecutors Concludes


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The 8th meeting of GCC Assistants of Public Prosecutors, Attorney-Generals and Heads of Public Investigation Bodies and the Public Prosecution concluded here today. The meeting, which was held at Marsa Malaz Kempinski in the Pearl- Qatar, discussed a range of topics related to enhancing cooperation between the GCC bodies and advancing GCC joint action.

Senior prosecutor Abdullah Ibrahim Al Malki, who led Qatar's delegation to the meeting, said the meeting discussed a number of important issues pertaining to boosting joint work among GCC public prosecution authorities, adding the meeting approved a number of recommendations and proposals including the rules for children protection during investigation stage, in addition to the secondment of members to other GCC prosecution and investigation bodies.

For his part, HE Ambassador Hamad bin Rashid Al-Marri, Assistant GCC Secretary-General for Legal Affairs, said today's meeting was a preparation for the upcoming meeting of GCC Public Prosecutors, Attorney-Generals and Heads of Public Investigation Bodies and the Public Prosecution which will be held in Doha next October.

It is worth mentioning that the meeting explored a set of topics including the united regulation to inspect the work of GCC's prosecutors and investigative bodies. It also discussed the rules for children protection during investigation stage, mechanisms for implementing rules of mutual cooperation as well as implementation of arrest and appearance warrants at the level of the GCC Member States among other topics.
