Japan stocks lower at close of trade Nikkei 225 down 1.63%


(MENAFN- FxPro) Japan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Communication, Mining and Insurance sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 declined 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Pioneer Corp. (TOKYO:6773), which rose 3.89% or 10.0 points to trade at 267.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NTT Data Corp. (TOKYO:9613) added 3.57% or 200.0 points to end at 5810.0 and Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd.

(TOKYO:5214) was up 3.11% or 19.0 points to 630.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NTT Docomo, Inc. (TOKYO:9437), which fell 9.83% or 240.0 points to trade at 2202.5 at the close. KDDI Corp. (TOKYO:9433) declined 8.58% or 259.0 points to end at 2760.5 and Nippon Telegraph&Telephone Corp (TOKYO:9432) was down 6.45% or 294.0 points to 4264.5.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1313 to 563.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 5.24% to 33.36.

Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.07% or 0.03 to $44.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.41% or 4.50 to trade at $1107.80 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.30% to 120.25, while EUR/JPY fell 0.04% to 136.65.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 95.13.
