Kuwait- Eid Sept 24

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced that Monday is the 30th of Zul-Qaadah and Tuesday is the first of Zul- Hejja because the crescent moon of Zul-Hejja was not visible on Sunday evening, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Accordingly, the Day of Arafat will fall on Sept 23 (Wednesday) and the first day of Eid Al-Adha will be on Sept 24 (Thursday). Sources explained the Higher Court in Saudi Arabia met on Sunday and it did not receive any testimony regarding the sighting of the crescent of Zul-Hejja 1436 AH in areas designated for the crescent moon sighting. In light of the above, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) is expected to announce changes in the official Eid Al- Adha holidays.

It had earlier declared that the holidays will start on Sept 22 (Tuesday) and end on Sept 26 (Saturday) but in view of the announcement of Saudi Arabia, the third day of Eid will fall on Sept 26; hence, the declaration of Sept 27 (Sunday) as holiday to compensate according to bylaws in this regard.
