Qatar- QF, Siemens in deal for exchange of knowledge

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) entered into an agreement with Siemens Qatar yesterday to facilitate the participation of specially-selected QF staff members in a comprehensive training programme.
The agreement for Qatar Foundation and Siemens Talent Training Programme was signed by Fahad al-Qahtani, group executive director of QF, and Abdurrahman Fatih Sakiz, CEO, Siemens Qatar.
QF talent development director Jawaher al-Kuwari, head of national development Hissa al-Kubaisi, Siemens senior executive vice president Hamad Alkhayyat and chief financial officer Stefan Werner were present at the signing ceremony.
"We believe that people are our greatest asset, and with this programme, our employees are set to greatly benefit from an exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices," al-Qahtani said.
Sakiz stated that the employees involved will greatly benefit from this knowledge exchange.
The QF staff members selected to take part in the inaugural programme are Ahmed al-Sumaiti, Haya al-Khater, and Aisha al-Muhannadi. During the course of the internship, they will take part in a series of on-site workshops and training sessions. Led by a team of Siemens experts, the participants will benefit from a wealth of economic, social, and environmental knowledge. The internship programme will start tomorrow.
Al-Sumaiti, a graduate from Texas A&M University at Qatar, is a mechanical engineer currently working in facilities management at Qatar Foundation.
"Having spoken to my mentor, I will start working with the projects in Qatar initially, then there may be an opportunity to also work in the UAE, and maybe even in Switzerland, in the main branch," he said.
Al-Khater, a Qatar University graduate, is working in the HR department at QF, in the training division. "What I am most looking forward to is being able to take what I learn at with Siemens, back to my team at Qatar Foundation."
Both QF and Siemens are already collaborating on QF's ground-break Tram System, and are working together to transform QF's flagship development, Education City, into an environmentally-friendly 'smart-city'. Siemens is set to provide a total of 19 trams altogether, with the first batch arriving in Doha last month.
