Qatar- NU 12th in ranking of US colleges


(MENAFN- The Peninsula)DOHA: Two of Education City’s American schools have once again been ranked in the top 15 colleges and universities in the respected US News Best Colleges ranking for 2016.

Northwestern was ranked 12th and Cornell 15th. In the 2015 ranking Northwestern was ranked 13th and Cornell 15th.

Of the top 25 schools this year nine schools stayed at the same place 13 fell in the rankings and only three moved up — Northwestern Johns Hopkins and Brown University.

“As one of Northwestern’s three campuses NU-Q is proud that our university has again been recognised as one of the most prestigious in the United States as well as in Qatar” said Everette E Dennis dean and CEO of NU-Q.

“These rankings reflect the world class academic experience we provide our students” he added.

US News is the only organisation that has been ranking schools for over three decades. The rankings focus on academic excellence with schools ranked on up to 16 measures of academic quality.

Students at NU-Q receive instruction from a world-class international faculty across three major programmes including Journalism Communication and Liberal Arts. As part of Northwestern University it boasts more than 200000 living alumni including countless public figures statespersons and societal leaders.
