General secretariat to help develop policies in Dubai


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council has issued a resolution on the roles and authorities of the General Secretariat of the Dubai Executive Council.

The resolution aims to enable the council to achieve its strategic objectives and carry out its responsibilities in line with international best practices.

The general secretariat's authorities include supporting the council's efforts to develop and manage policies and strategies in Dubai; monitoring and overseeing the implementation of polices and strategies by government entities; supporting the executive council's decision-making process; leading the process of updating Dubai's strategic plan; providing technical support for implementation of sectoral strategic plans; outlining the emirate's key priorities; and formulating and implementing new joint work plans to enhance government performance in line with the approved plans of the federal government.

The resolution authorises the general secretariat to follow up on the implementation of Dubai's strategic plan sectoral strategic plans and the policies procedures initiatives and programmes approved by the executive council. The general secretariat also manages the programmes focused on enhancing the government's operations by instilling a culture of excellence in various government sectors in line with best practices.
