Qatar- Partnership to promote primary education

DOHA: Education Above All Foundation (EAA) a global programme based in Qatar that facilitates access to quality primary education by addressing the particular and unique issues faced by out-of-school children around the world together with Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) is set to support primary education in Qatar.

According to a three-year agreement both organisations will work together to provide and support primary education opportunities in Qatar. They will also plan and develop projects and awareness campaigns highlighting the importance of education.

A joint committee will be established to oversee the activities included in the agreement. At the signing of the agreement which took place at the offices of QFSW Mariam Al Misnad EAA Director of Outreach gave an overview of the organisation’s work and expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with QFSW.

Marcio Barbosa CEO Education Above All Foundation said “Whilst EAA’s work has primarily been focused on countries around the world with the highest numbers of out-of-school children it is also important to ensure that our efforts to ensure primary education for all also consider Qatar and local needs. We are pleased to be partnering with Qatar Foundation for Social Work on this project and we look forward to collaborating towards supporting education access here in Qatar. The agreement with QFSW is a further example of EAA’s efforts to partner with a diverse range of stakeholders to support primary education to give children access to opportunity.”

QFSW CEO Amal bint Abdullatif Al Mannai said she was pleased that QFSW and EAA will be working together and through this agreement contribute to supporting and developing social work providing educational opportunities to out-of-school children which will enable them to play active roles in the sustainable development of their society and strengthen family and social cohesion and human development in Qatar. She said this is part of QFSW’s vision and mission of empowering and developing civil society organisations to help them realise their objectives considering the threats families are facing amid regional and global changes.
