Jordan- Planning minister renews call for funding to help Syrian refugees

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhoury, Saturday, urged the international community to increase funding of the Jordan response plan for refugees, according to a ministry statement.

It said that the Jordan response platform to the Syrian crisis has received 34.5 percent of its funding, which means that the financing gap is nearly two-thirds of the required funding.

The call came in light of the ongoing preparations for a forum on November 9 in Jordan which will bring together representatives of the donor nations, UN organizations and the private sector to develop a regional road map for funding mechanisms to face the impact of the Syrian crisis.
