Oman- CBO holds series of seminars on combating forgery of banknotes


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) in collaboration with the German company Giesecke & Devrient organised a seminar 'Combating Forgery and the Security Features of Omani Banknotes' in Muscat on Friday.

Held as part of the series of seminars the forum spread awareness among those working in the financial and monetary sectors about forgery of banknotes stated a press release. Similar seminars were held in Sohar and Salalah as well.

The seminar was attended by representatives from Omani financial and banking institutions leasing companies and officials from CBO.

The forum saw discussions on the history of banknotes in the world security features and printing. It also saw sessions that focused on ways of identifying forgery through touch and signs. Demonstrations explaining forgery and counterfeiting of banknotes were also held at the seminar.
