Obama Netanyahu to meet November


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) President Barack Obamawill meet with Israel’s prime minister inNovember a White House official said Friday.

It will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since world powers and Iran reached a deal regarding Tehran’s nuclear program.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described the agreement as a "mistake of historic proportions" and said “Iran will receive hundreds of billions of dollars which will enable it to continue its terror and aggression in the region and the world.”

Describing thefuture of the relationship between the U.S. and Israel as "something worth talking about" and "investing in" White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the planned meetingreflectedthe commitment of both leaders to maintaina strong relationship.

Iran agreed in July to unprecedented inspections of its nuclear program in exchange for relief from sanctions that have imperiled its economy.The deal was reached after nearly two years of tense negotiations.

Obama and Netanyahu talked on phone after the deal was reached and Obama underscored his administration's commitment to Israel's security saying the deal wouldnot diminish the "concerns regarding Iran's support for terrorism and threats toward Israel".

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter visited Israel shortly after the deal was struck -- a visit many considered asa reflection of the unprecedented level of security cooperation between the U.S.and Israel.

No final date has been set for the meeting but arrangements continue Earnest said.
