US job market improves as jobless claims drop by 6,000


(MENAFN) Things looked good for the job market as the number of Americans applying for unemployment aid dropped last week.

Seasonally adjusted claims for jobless benefits declined by 6,000 to 275,000 in the week ending Sep-5, according to a report released by the Labor Department.

Furthermore, unemployment rate went down to 5.1 percent in August, plus 173,000 people joined the non-farm work force in the same month.
