Qatar stock index gains 193.59 points; market cap up by QR10.2bn

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 193.59 points or 1.66 percent on Thursday when it closed at 11853.42 points.

The market capitalization increased by QR10.2bn to QR623.78bn from QR 613.58bn registered Wednesday.

The daily turnover jumped to QR667.852m with a volume of 14947703 shares from 7444 transactions compared with QR553.382m with a volume of 14028692 shares from 7725 transactions on Wednesday reports QNA.

Indices of all sectors ended in the green barring insurance which dropped -0.13% to 4659.74 points.

Telecom index made good gains for the second consecutive day up 3.37 percent to 1011.76 points. Banks and financial services gained 2.17 percent to 3222.88 points.

From the 43 companies listed on QSE shares of 40 exchanged hands today. From these 26 gained 11 dropped and three remained unchanged.
