(MENAFN- Arab News) The article 'Using antibiotics wisely' (Sept. 9) by Jim O'Neill was very interesting and informative. It is true that we are made to consume antibiotics for every illness which is a very dangerous practice. Actually people should not be blamed for consuming antibiotics. Our doctors usually prescribe such medicines. The health authorities should study this issue in depth and devise a policy in this regard.
Pharmacies should be instructed not to sell antibiotics without doctors' prescription. It is a very important issue and should be dealt with extreme care. Fahad Jamil Dammam
