One police martyred 2 injured in Turkey terror attack

Security sources told Anadolu Agency that the incident occurred after a group of PKK terrorists attacked a control point of police with automatic refilesand rocket launchers in central Cumhuriyet neighborhood.

Severalarmored vehicles and special operations teams have been dispatched to the area following the attack.

A wide-scale operation has been launched in the region to nab the terrorists.

Sunday evening saw the 16 soldiers martyred in PKK mineattack on two armed militaryvehiclesin southeasternDaglica townofHakkari'sYuksekova district thedeadliestsince the terrorist grouprenewed its armed attacks late July.

Across Turkey people -- in car or on foot -- are pouringto streets for the last three nights in protest of Daglica and other terrorist attacks as they carry Turkish flags in support of security forces andchant slogans condemning PKK and terrorism.

Since July's Suruc bombing more than 90 members of the security forces have been martyred in the violencewhile land-and-air operations in Turkey and northern Iraq have killed nearly a thousandterrorists.

According to a Turkish General Staffstatement releasedearly Monday only13PKK targets were bombed bytwo F-16 and twoF-14 aircraftinan operation launched after the attack.
