Chinese energy vehicles soar 372 percent in August


(MENAFN) The production of the new energy Chinese vehicles has witnessed a great surge in August, up 372 percent to 24,500 units as opposed to last year's same period.

New energy passenger vehicles represented 65 percent of the overall production volume, while the rest were commercial cars, according to a statement by Ministry of Industry and Information.

Furthermore, the manufacturing volume totaled 123,500 in the January-August period, a surge of 297 percent compared to the previous year, reports showed.

All in all, as a result for government's actions of promoting the use of new energy vehicles with subsidies plus tax cuts, this sector in particular has seen massive growth for the past two years.
