Kuwait Oil Min To Take Part In GCC Meeting


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr Ali Al-Omair arrived to Doha on Wednesday to take part in the 34th meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Petroleum Cooperation Committee. Al-Omair told KUNA upon arrival that this meeting is important for coordinating among GCC oil ministers before the GCC summit.

This event will tackle the top vital issues related to petroleum industries including the prices of oil products, besides uniting GCC countries' policies related to oil policies. The minister wished that this meeting would contribute to enhancing the cooperation, coordination and integration between GCC countries.

The conferees will discuss Thursday a number of issues including joint petroleum projects at the level of member countries besides negotiations held with a number of economic blocs and international organizations. They will also tackle the cooperation between Gulf countries in conventional and alternative energy sources in order to lead a strong base for joint future projects according to reports and studies indicating a rise in the global demand for energy.

The minister was received by Kuwait's Ambassador to Qatar Mutib Saleh Al Mutawtah, Director of the Industrial Development at Qatar's Ministry of Energy and Industry Sa'id Al-Muwari, besides a number of the embassy's members.
