Oman Air's new Dreamliner to be initially operated on Salalah route


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Air will operate its soon to arrive Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the Salalah route initially to give an opportunity for people in Oman to experience the wide-bodied aircraft.

Paul Gregorwitsch Oman Air CEO confirmed that the first of the six Dreamliners will be arriving in Muscat in the coming weeks.

"The first of the six Boeing 787-8s will arrive within two weeks and it marks a milestone

in Oman Air's history' the top official told Muscat Daily on Wednesday on the sidelines of a signing agreement between Oman Football Association and Oman Air.

'The big aircraft will be mainly used for long-haul flights to Europe and Far Eastern countries. But as the national carrier we will operate the flight on the Salalah route initially. It will be a chance for people in Oman to experience the new aircraft' said Gregorwitsch.

He said Oman Air is looking forward to increasing its fleet strength. A total of 25 Boeing aircraft are expected to be added to Oman Air's fleet over the next few years. So far eight aircraft have been delivered to Oman Air and these include 737-800s and 737-900ERs.
