1200 to perform Haj from Qatar

Makkah: Qatar’s official Haj (pilgrimage) Mission arrived in Makkah yesterday to assume its duties in creating appropriate conditions for the pilgrims of Qatar including citizens and residents so that they can perform Haj rituals comfortably.

Immediately after the arrival the Haj mission began its official duties through its supporting committees by arranging preparations at the Holy sites in order to ensure readiness to receive the pilgrims. The number of pilgrims from Qatar this year is 1200 including 900 citizens and 300 residents.

Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) H E Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari on Tuesday issued a decision forming the Qatari Haj Mission for the year 1436 Hijri 2015 AD.

The Minister named Dr Abdulsalam Ali Al Qahtani as executive president of the mission. The Haj mission is tasked with providing services to the pilgrims of Qatar including aspects of awareness guidance treatment and resolving their issues and work on whatever that facilitates performing their rituals in a proper way.
