Lebanese PM calls on local politicians to end garbage crisis


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam called on the local politicians taking part in a dialogue session at the parliament here on Wednesday to contribute to reaching a resolution for the garbage crisis their country is suffering from.
Salam in press remarks expressed hope that this dialogue would be fruitful and would serve his country and people.
He called on the parliament to hold an extraordinary meeting this afternoon to put an end to this catastrophe in Lebanon.
A number of Lebanese politicians are holding a dialogue session at the parliament amid strict security measures at a time civil society activists are protesting against the garbage crisis.
Lebanese Forces Party announced its refusal to take part in this dialogue as it insists on discussing the country's presidency issue before tackling any other issues.
The meeting's agenda will include selecting a president, parliamentary issues, cabinet issues, electoral law, nationality law, besides others.
