Jordanian Interior Minister Confirms Depth of Relations with Qatar


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Jordanian Interior Minister Salamah Hammad has confirmed the durability and depth of historical relations between his country and the State of Qatar.

He said that the Jordanian-Qatari relationship is based on brotherhood, mutual respect and common concern for its development thanks to the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Jordan's King Abdullah II.

Minister Hammad noted in an interview with the Qatari daily (Al Sharq) published today, that cooperation between the two countries in various sectors is a realistic translation for the wise vision and directives of the two countries' leaderships, where Doha and Amman has seen over the years momentum in official mutual visits of senior officials resulted in the signing of a large number of agreements and memorandums of understanding that frame well-established relations between the two countries in various political, economic and cultural fields.

He added that attracting Jordanian experiences and efficiencies to work in Qatar and strengthening the cooperation in economic, investment and security areas between the two countries represent a fundamental building block in achieving Arab integration.

He also said that the visit of the Qatari economic delegation to Amman last week to discuss new opportunities for cooperation reflects the Qatari desire for framing and establishing a new economic and investment opportunities between the two countries for the interests of their peoples.

The Jordanian Interior Minister stressed that his country is keen to develop its relations with the Arab countries because of the ongoing changes and developments in the Arab world which need intensified efforts to unify the Arab ranks and visions to counter the unrest and turmoil that beset many countries in the region.

Regarding the crisis of Syrian refugees, Hammad pointed out that Jordan is exerting double efforts exceeded its limited abilities and capacities to relieve their suffering in various health, education and security fields, as well as putting pressure on the infrastructure in the various facilities and institutions that already exist to serve the citizens.

He said that the services provided by Jordan to the Syrian refugees are coming out of its humanitarian and national duties. On Jordan's ability to maintain its security and stability, Hammad said that his country's internal policy based on the good governance, transparency and the dissemination of the principles of justice, tolerance and equality, adding that its foreign relations based on the non-interference in the affairs of others.
