UAE- Developers out in full force at Cityscape 2015

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Cityscape Global 2015 opened in true glamorous style at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Tuesday. Despite talk of a slowdown in the Dubai property market developers were out in full force to prove naysayers wrong.

Spread across 40000 square metres of exhibition space the event was buzzing with property stakeholders turning out in droves to view the latest developments from developers' stables. Unlike 2008 where Cityscape Dubai witnessed a buying frenzy the event seems more subdued with serious investors visiting stalls and negotiating deals with developers and agents.

The pavilions with all the razzmatazz as usual were Damac which has a Bugatti Veyron parked in full splendour to draw buyer interest to its recently launched Bugatti-styled homes; Al Barari whose pavilion resembles a mini rainforest with lush foliage; Emaar Properties which has live performers and musicians to highlight the Opera District; Al Habtoor which has splurged on a psychedelic pavilion to draw attention to its flagship Al Habtoor City; and Falcon City whose pavilion includes replicas of the wonders of the world including the Pyramids and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Though proceedings in the morning began on a muted note the exhibition started gaining momentum towards noon and after.

Most real estate bellwethers in Dubai have a presence in this year's edition either showcasing existing projects or launching new phases to developments. Ancillary services such as facilities management firms real estate consultancies and brokerages too have come out to make their presence felt.

Reflecting the global nature of the exhibition there is a strong contingent of Turkish developers and real estate companies this year. The real estate brigade from India and the UK are also a noticeable presence at the exhibition.

Meanwhile notable launches on day one of Cityscape include The Villages by Dubai South Jebel Ali Gardens and the Palm Promenande by Nakheel.

In Ajman Al Zorah Development has launched two projects of around 930 homes. The 800 Golf Estate apartments will face the Jack Niclaus-designed 18-hole golf course while the 130 Al Zorah Beach Residences will face the beach.

Also the mammoth Mall of the World project moves one step closer to reality with the appointment of Morgan Parker as chief operating officer of the project. Mall of the World was unveiled in 2012 as the world's first temperature-controlled city.

In short Cityscape Global 2015 has reaffirmed its position as the place to be if you have any stakes in the UAE's property market.
