UAE- Abdullah bin Zayed receives World Bank delegation

ABU DHABI 8th Sept. 2015 (WAM)Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan today received here a delegation from the World Bank headed by Dr. Hafez Ghanem Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa.

The meeting discussed co-operation between the UAE and the World Bank in providing financial technical and technological assistance to developing countries as well as means of benefitting from the Bank's expertise in development projects and programmes.

Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Ghanem and other delegation members and referred to the achievements by the UAE in financial and monetary policies as well as humanitarian assistance.

He renewed the UAE's commitment to working with different countries and international organisations to discuss latest developments and to exchange expertise on economic development and investments.

Ghanem appreciated the UAE's co-operation with the World Bank and for the country's continuous support to its operations.

He praised the UAE's efforts in implementing best international practices. He also commended the facilities offered by the country to foreign investors.

Ghanem also referred to the Bank's strategy to eliminate poverty in MENA by 2030.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber Minister of State.
