Qatar- Engineers' forum opens lectures season


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Qatar Section, held the first learning event of the 2015-2016 Distinguished Lectures season in Doha on Monday.
The event was attended by local oil and gas professionals and students.
The SPE Qatar Section is chaired by Sheikh Faisal bin Fahad al-Thani, deputy manager director of Maersk Oil Qatar.
The title of the presentation was "Uncertainty assessment with reservoir simulation models - Practical Guidelines", presented by Anil Ambastha, the reservoir simulation unit lead with Chevron Nigeria.
Ambastha provided systematic and practical guidelines for uncertainty assessment work using reservoir simulation models for a brownfield environment. The session stressed the importance of engagement of all operations and facilities personnel in developing an adequate forecast problem description and economic success metrics.
The SPE Qatar Section's mission is to collect, disseminate and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources and related technologies for public benefits, as well as to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence.
