Qatar- Ooredoo sponsors Maktaba c& for education

DOHA: Ooredoo staff recently took part in an educational community camp for children in partnership with Maktaba organisation.

The Not a Box camp which was sponsored by Ooredoo and is one of Maktaba’s educational programmes aimed at encouraging children of all ages to have a love of reading in order to achieve their academic intellectual and creative goals.

During the daylong activities at the camp Ooredoo staff visited art classes and story reading sessions about the potential of a simple box. The day aimed at inspiring children to contribute to their community with their natural curiosity and enthusiasm. At the end of the event each child had a piece of their own artwork to give to their parents.

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari Director Community & Public Relations Ooredoo said: “Ooredoo believes in enabling children to grow to the best of their ability which is why we work with organisations such as Maktaba to encourage education for Qatar’s children. Ooredoo is proud to sponsor the Not a Box Camp as it celebrates a child’s creativity and encourages them to develop their ideas individually and as a team.”

Ooredoo has recently signed a long-term partnership agreement with Maktaba and the companies have a shared vision to inspire children and their parents to fall in love with literature.

By focusing on the value of reading for pleasure as a tool to improve literacy encourage curiosity and foster intercultural dialogue Maktaba and Ooredoo aim at contributing to the continuing development of Qatar and hope to help bring back the popularity of Arabic language children’s literature.

This sponsorship is part of Ooredoo’s CSR strategy which places education as one of the company’s main pillars of interest.
