Saudi- Not surprised at all
(MENAFN- Arab News) The report 'Netanyahu refuses to shelter refugees' (Sept. 7) did not come as a surprise to anybody. The Israeli prime minister is only interested in grabbing Palestinian lands. Any humanitarian gesture from this Zionist leader is out of question.
The sorry state of these distressed people seeking refuge in Europe should remind him of the plight of Jews who once lived under the Nazi rule. Had other countries of the world not accepted Jews fleeing persecution at the hands of the Nazis the world would have not seen the creation of Israel.
We welcome OIC chief Iyad Madani's passionate call urging the international community to help Syrian refugees. We Muslims need to do more to help our Syrian fellow Muslims.
It is heartening to note that people of many European countries are according the refugees a warm welcome. They have realized the fact that these people genuinely need help. Perhaps it was the sad picture of Aylan Kurdi that changed the situation around the world and helped tip the balance in the favor these wretched people. S.H. Moulana Riyadh
