Dubai Customs contributes mosque for UAE martyrs


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)Dubai Customs staff in memorial of the UAE soldiers martyred in Yemen has decided to contribute for building a mosque in the name of the 45 national heroes.

"All staff have willingly chipped in since the early hours in the morning on Monday promising to make the mosque one of the major Islamic milestones in the emirate of Dubai" said Khalil Sager Director of Corporate Communication at Dubai Customs.

The leadership team of Dubai Customs has also decided to change the name the biggest conference room in the department where more than 150 key meetings were held this year into the 'Martyr' meeting auditorium.

"This is in memorial of the UAE heroes' sacrifice."

The charitable and humanitarian projects launched by the UAE prudent leadership speak volume in every nook and corner worldwide he added.

"We are trying to follow the same exemplary track to defend right and justice."

The mosque drive initiated by the coastal customs centres has been exceptionally welcomed since being announced on the internal network of Dubai Customs staff Sager pointed out.

"Building a mosque has been highly advised by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was reported as saying: 'Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah like a sparrow's nest for Allah or even smaller Allah will build him a house in Paradise.'

Meanwhile Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has instructed all imams and scholars in the mosques of the emirate to give supplication for the UAE soldiers martyred in Yemen on a daily basis until further notice.

"A series of lectures are to be delivered to develop public awareness on the importance and virtue of martyrdom and high ranking positions of martyrs in paradise" a source told Khaleej Times on Monday.

An official delegation from the department is to physically offer condolences to all martyrs has also been decided.

"Dr Hamad Al Shaibani director general of the department has already paid condolences to family and relatives of martyr Ali Hassan Al Shehi in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah."
