Turkish Soldiers Killed in Southeastern Turkey


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Explosives reportedly planted by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants on a road in the Turkish southeastern Hakkari province on Sunday killed and wounded several soldiers.

The incident took place in the town of Daglica in Yuksekova district Sunday evening, as two armed vehicles belonging to Turkish soldiers were crossing. Security sources said there were several wounded and martyred soldiers.

However, there has been no official statement on the number of martyred soldiers yet, according to Anadolu Agency (AA). An operation backed by helicopters was launched after the attack, in which 10 PKK targets were bombed by F-16 and F-14 aircrafts in southeastern Turkey, security sources said.
