Oman's real estate transactions double to USD6.5b in H1


(MENAFN) According to the National Center of Statistics and Information, Oman's real estate sector transactions value surged around 50 percent to USD6.5 billion in the first six months of the year.

The total traded value rose 47.7 percent, reaching USD6.44 billion by July-end compared to the value registered in same period a year ago, the data, cited by the Oman Tribute, showed.

Meanwhile, the traded value of selling contracts soared 12.1 percent to more than USD2 billion. However, the volume of selling contracts dropped 3.4 percent to 47,287 contracts.

The traded value of mortgage contracts increased 72.6 percent to USD4.4 billion during the January-June period, compared to USD2.56 billion recorded during the same period of 2014.
