ABU DHABI 7th September 2015 (WAM) -- The Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi EAD plans to showcase the best of Abu Dhabi's land water and air biodiversity as well as a number of the organisation's environmental initiatives during its participation at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition ADIHEX 2015 which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from September 9th to 12th.

Agency experts will also be available to answer queries from visitors about the Emirate's fisheries terrestrial biodiversity air quality and hunting.

EAD aims to encourage the community to play a more active role in adopting sustainable fishing practices through educating them on the different species of fish and what sizes are best to fish in order to minimise the depletion of Abu Dhabi's fish stock. During the event the agency will also highlight its efforts to measure and monitor air pollutants and the partners they work closely with to safeguard public health.

EAD will showcase the Scimitar Horned Oryx reintroduction programme as part of its long-term commitment to sustaining biodiversity for future generations inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan's legacy and efforts to protect endangered species and sustain them in their natural habitat.

The agency also hopes to educate the public on its role in regulating hunting to ensure a balance between the practice one that is deeply engrained in Emirati heritage and the long-term interest of maintaining healthy and viable populations of wild animals.
