Jordan- 1 dead, 17 injured in traffic accidents


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) One person died and 17 others were injured Sunday in traffic accidents in Amman, Madaba and Karak, according to a Civil Defence Department (CDD) statement.

It said CDD rescue crews and medics in Madaba handled a vehicle crash in Jiza that left one person dead as the result of serious injuries he suffered all over his body, and another was rushed with severe injuries to hospital, where he was listed in a critical condition.

The statement said that 11 people were ferried to the King Hussein Medical Centre and another hospital in the capital with various injuries sustained in the collision of a minibus run by a hotel and a water tanker in Naour West of Amman. It said medics had administered first aid to the injured and then moved them to the hospitals.

In the southern city of Karak, the statement said, a vehicle rolled over and crashed on a road in Al Wasiyah, injuring five occupants who were in a fair condition in hospital where they were admitted by CDD crews.
