Palin: I want to be Trump's Energy Secretary to abolish the Office

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Sarah Palin, an apparent supporter of Donald Trump in his bid for president, has said she would like to be appointed Energy Secretary in a Trump Administration. Only, it wouldn't be to actually fill the role but rather to abolish it.

The former governor of Alaska has been trumpeting Trump's candidacy and recently had the unlikely 2016 hopeful on her show. She has also been suggested as a possible running mate for the real estate mogul.

However, she might be satisfied with the role of energy czar if only to do away with it altogether.

In an interview with CNN, Palin was asked if she would consider a cabinet position in a Trump administration.

"I think a lot about the Department of Energy and if I were head of that, I'd get rid of it and I'd let the states start having more control," she responded. "So if I were in charge of that, it'd be a short term job but it would be really great to have someone who knows energy, and is pro-responsible development, to be in charge."

Palin was also asked about Trump's derogatory remarks after another candidates, Jeb Bush, answered a question in Spanish.

"When you're here, let's speak American," Palin said.

Trump is well into the lead, polling at 30 percent in a crowded field of 17 candidates vying for the Republican nomination.
