Tunis seals off major road in response to terror threat

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Tunisian authorities on Sunday sealed off the country's vital Habib Bourguiba road in the heart of the capital Tunis, as a preventive measure against potential terrorist attacks including car bombs and explosive belts.
The Tunisian News Agency (TAP) quoting an anonymous Interior Ministry official reported that, "investigative information has confirmed the presence of terrorist threats in strategic and lively areas in the capital Tunis." The official added that security forces in collaboration with the army will reinforce security presence in the areas being targeted to help intercept any suspicious elements.
A terrorist attack by an armed gunman in a tourist resort in the city of Sousse last June killed 38 people. The attack was deemed the deadliest in the history of modern Tunisia.
