Qatar- WCMC invites nationals for research training

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) has invited applications from Qataris with an interest in science and research for an internship on a world-class research programme.
WCMC-Q's Biomedical Research Training Programme for Nationals will restart in January 2016. Applications can be submitted online until October 22.
The initiative is a unique opportunity for Qatari college graduates with an interest in biomedical research to gain hands on experience in world-class laboratories at WCMC-Q and in the different administrative and managerial responsibilities related to biomedical research.
Although the programme is aimed at recent graduates who are interested in pursuing a career as a bench or clinical researcher, or a research administrator, applications from nationals are welcomed irrespective of their discipline. The training programme is a full-time, six-month employment commitment with trainees receiving a graduation certificate upon
completion.
The trainees are paid a stipend as part of a comprehensive compensation package. The programme is fully funded by WCMC-Q, and is organised in partnership with the Qatar Science Leadership Programme at Qatar Foundation.
The programme was launched in 2011 and has so far provided training to 24 interns. It was inspired by Qatar National Vision 2030 and the goal of creating a knowledge-based economy by helping build the national human capacity and training Qataris for a post-hydrocarbon future.
