Qatar- Awqaf ministry gets two new mosques


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has received two new mosques along with their supplements in Ain Khalid and Al Ibb areas as part of its plan to double the number of mosques to keep up with population growth in the country. It has residences of the Imam and a Holy Qur'an memorisation centre.
The Ain Khalid mosque can accommodate about 1,440 worshippers in the main hall and 140 in the women's hall while the other mosque in Al Khor city can accommodate 228 worshippers in the main hall and 50 in the women's hall. It also has residences of the Imam and muezzin.
The ministry's plan focuses on doubling the number of mosques equipped with necessary facilities to serve worshippers.
