Pakistan celebrates 50th Defense Day


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Pakistan, on Sunday, observed its 50th "Defense Day", paying tributes to the servicemen who lost their lives during the September 6th, 1965 war with India.
Celebrations for Defense Day started with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital Islamabad and 21-gun salute in all four provincial capitals. Sirens were sounded in the morning to herald a nation wide one-minute silence to pay homage to soldiers who lost their lives in 1965 war.
A special air show was happened at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base in Islamabad featuring fighter jets and helicopters of Pakistan military. On the occasion, President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have declared resolve of the nation to protect sovereignty and security of Pakistan at all costs.
