Qatar- GCC's social affairs, labor preparatory meeting begins in Doha


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The second preparatory meeting of the GCC undersecretaries for social affairs and labor kicked off here on Sunday to enhance cooperation amongst GCC states.
Head of the Kuwaiti delegation in the meeting and Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Undersecretary Dr. Matar Al-Mutairi said the meeting focused on legislations connected with social welfare, family, civil associations, and youth in the GCC region.
For his part, Qatar's Assistant Undersecretary for Social Affairs Ahmed Nasser Al-Nasser said that the GCC countries are looking forward for supportive decisions to enhance the march of joint action in the social field to meet the aspirations of the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The GCC General Secretariat will follow the Supreme Council resolutions relating to issues of social work in the Gulf countries and unify efforts among member states, said the Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs at the GCC Secretariat Abdullah Bin Juma Al-Shibli The meeting's agenda also includes establishment of unions and associations in the GCC countries aimed at contributing development of collaborative work, he added.
The Second GCC Ministerial Committee of Labor and Social Affairs meeting will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 September.
The ministers will discuss decisions of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the field of social affairs and labor, as well as topics related to the GCC joint action in the areas of social and labor sector.
