Dubai Airport passenger traffic up 29.6 percent in July


(MENAFN) Dubai Airport said that passenger traffic has increased 29.6 percent in July to reach 6.68 million compared to July 2014 when traffic was impacted by runway renovations.

Passenger numbers totaled 6,682,676 compared to the 5,155,771 registered in July 2014, when the airport was reduced to one runway while a USD1 billion renovation was conducted over 80 days.

In the January-July period of 2015, Dubai airport received 44,981,967 passengers, compared to 39,831,861 passengers during the same period last year, marking an increase of 12.9 percent.

"Over 6 million passengers per month has become the norm at DXB and we expect that to continue for the remainder of the year," CEO of Dubai Airports said in a statement.
