Oman- Amerat records second highest rainfall


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) As per the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources' stations the highest rainfall on Thursday and Friday was recorded in the wilayat of Awabi in South Batinah at 70mm followed by 67mm in Muscat governorate's wilayat of Amerat.

Liwa in North Batinah recorded 60mm while Dima Wa al Taeen in North Sharqiyah recorded 14mm rainfall. Samail in Dakhliyah recorded only 2mm rain.

Meanwhile in the capital businesses were hit by the sudden turn of weather.   'It was the first Friday of the month and we were expecting a good number of customers many of them wanting to shop because of having received their pay. But the rain hit our business' said Samjid Hussain a shop owner in Ruwi. 

From the rain the Wadi Dayqah dam in Quriyat received an additional inflow of 1.1mn m3 taking its reserve to 7.57mn m3.
