Turkey- G20 reiterates terrorism fighting top priority


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks of the Group of 20 (G20) affirmed Saturday that the fight against terrorism was their top priority.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Cevdet Yilmaz, reading the final statement of the G20 meeting to reporters, called for cutting terrorism financing sources.
He said G20 countries were committed to exchanging intelligence, punishing terrorist groups and those supporting them.
Yilmaz expressed sorrow at the drowning of immigrants who sought refuge in European countries.
He meanwhile said the meeting touched upon financial markets' fluctuations, and the G20 would monitor the markets with the objective of restoring economic stability.
Yilmaz said the monetary policies of the G20 countries would continue their support to economic activities within guidelines put foward by the central banks.
He called for boosting the gross domestic product because it was the key to global economic growth.
Today's meeting was to prepare for the G20 summit, due in the Turkish southern city of Antalya on November 15.
