Qatar- SCH advises precautions ahead of Haj

DOHA: The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) yesterday advised pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for Haj to take precautions and recommended vaccinations prior to travel.

Pilgrims could get vaccinated at different health centres across the country as a precaution against infectious diseases.

Guidelines issued by the SCH together with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Qatar Red Crescent advises Haj pilgrims to take precautions against Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (Mers-CoV) and other diseases.

It will also specify World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines and precautionary measures people should take.

A 72-page booklet with guidelines will be soon made available on www.sch.gov.qa. It will also mention steps to be taken by people with several different diseases ahead and during the pilgrimage.

Specifically people with cardiovascular problems high blood pressure allergies kidney failure and epilepsy are given separate guidelines. Meanwhile according to SCH’s official website Qatari Haj pilgrims can get vaccinated at any primary health centre .

Non-Qataris registered at the Um Ghwaileena Al Wakra and Airport HCs shall receive vaccination at the Airport HC.

People registered at the Omar Bin Al Khatab West Bay and Al Muntazah HCs shall receive the service at Al Muntazah HC.

Those registered at Mesaimeer Abu Baker Al Kara’ana and Abu Nakhlah HCs shall receive the service at Mesaimeer HC. Patients registered in either Al Rayan Al Shahaneya or Al Jumaileya HCs and Um Bab area could get vaccinated at Al Rayan HC.

Those registered at Al Khor Al Daayen Al Shamal Al Ka’aban and Al Ghuwairya HCs shall receive the service at Al Khor HC. Patients registered at Madinat Khalifa Um Selal and Al Gharafah HCs can avail of the service at Madinat Khalifa HC.

Those not registered at any HC can get vaccinated at the Mesaimeer HC.
