Oman's 7M refinery output rises 2.2 to 49mn barrels

The total production of refineries and petroleum-industry companies in the sultanate touched 48.76mn barrels in the first seven months of 2015. This is 2.2 per cent higher compared with the same period of last year.

Statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed production of regular petrol dropped 32 per cent to 1.41mn barrels from 2.07mn barrels.

Production of premium petrol reached 13.21mn barrels up 5.7 per cent from 12.49mn barrels a year ago. Oman's production of jet fuel rose by 4.5 per cent to 2.88mn barrels.

While production of diesel increased by 13 per cent to 12.44mn barrels fuel-oil production inched down 0.4 per cent to 1.35mn barrels.

The sultanate produced a total 2.1mn barrels of liquefied petroleum gas during the first seven months of this year down 2.8 per cent from 2.17mn barrels in the year-ago period.

Production of liquidation wastes decreased by 5.9 per cent to log 10.96mn barrels at the end of July 2015 compared with 11.66 barrels for the same period of 2014.
