AUC and Partners Convene Progress Report Review Meeting


(MENAFNEditorial) ADDIS ABABA Ethiopia September 4 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Partners under the umbrella of the Joint Program and Financing Arrangement (JPA) – Institutions Capacity Building and Communication (ICBC) and non-JPA jointly with African Union Commission (AUC) concerned departments gathered today Thursday 3 September 2015 at the Headquarters of the African Union to review 2014 Year End and First Semester of 2015 reports for the ICBC Pillar as well as the Shared values Pillar (JPA-DPA).

The joint review meeting approved the 2014 annual report and the 2015 mid-year report. During the meeting presentations on ICBC Administrative reforms financial management reforms Project Management and Evaluation Review Internal Audit and Political Affairs were made by Directors/representatives of respective departments.

It was noted that the AUC has been registering laudable progress in recent years in the improvement of its institutional capacities and operational systems and procedures. Through the implementation of the ICBC the Commission will further strengthen its institutional capacities and put in place measures to enhance its performance and operational efficiency in terms of finance human resources and administration conference and all other services. It undertakes these measures through benchmarking and adoption of international best practices.

About JPA Partners

- JPA-ICBC agreement signed between AUC and Partners to support most of the projects under Institution Capacity Building and Communication Pillar. These partners include Sweden UK the Netherlands Germany/GIZ Denmark Canada Norway USA/USAID and EU. Turkey France ACBF China and World Bank are other partners financing the ICBC Pillar but are not signatories of the JPA.

- JPA-Shared Values-DPA (Election & Governance) agreement signed between AUC and Partners to support of the projects under Political Affairs Department. These Partners include DFID Denmark Sweden Netherlands Germany USAID and EU.
